The Yamaha STAGEPAS 400BT is an all-in-one portable PA made up of a detachable 8-channel powered mixer and two passive two-way speakers, each with an 8-inch woofer and a 1-inch compression driver. The amplifier is rated at 400 W dynamic (200 W per side), and Bluetooth streaming, SPX reverb and an onboard feedback suppressor are built in.
It suits solo and duo performers, acoustic acts, presenters, teachers, places of worship and small events that need dependable sound without a rack of extra gear. The whole system weighs 18.3 kg and sets up quickly, even for users with little PA experience.

The two speakers, the detachable mixer, a pair of 6 m speaker cables and the power cord combine into a compact package you can carry by hand. The mixer sits in the back of a speaker cabinet for transport and lifts out for the show, so there is no separate mixer case to pack.
400 W output with 8-inch two-way speakers
The powered mixer delivers 400 W dynamic (200 W + 200 W) or 360 W continuous (180 W + 180 W) into 4 ohms. Each bass-reflex speaker pairs an 8-inch cone woofer with a 1-inch voice-coil compression driver, reaching up to 125 dB SPL per speaker with a 55 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range and 90° x 60° coverage.
Flexible 8-channel mixer for mics, instruments and playback
Four mono mic/line channels handle vocals and instruments, while channels 5/6 and 7/8 can run as stereo pairs or be switched to independent mono inputs. Channel 4 has a Hi-Z switch so a passive-pickup guitar or bass plugs straight in without a DI box, and +30 V phantom power on channels 1 and 2 supports condenser microphones.
Bluetooth audio streaming
Play backing tracks, walk-in music or a party playlist wirelessly from a smartphone or tablet. The Bluetooth 4.1 (A2DP) input has a maximum range of approximately 10 m, which saves running an extra cable to the mixer.
SPX reverb and 1-Knob Master EQ
A single knob selects one of four high-resolution SPX reverb types and their time, and each channel then sets how much reverb it receives, which flatters vocals and acoustic instruments. The 1-Knob Master EQ, with virtual bass boost, quickly tailors the overall sound for speech, music or extra low end.
One-touch feedback suppressor
Feedback is a common problem when microphones and speakers share a small room. The onboard feedback suppressor detects and removes it at the push of a button, helping inexperienced users get a clean, professional result.
2-band channel EQ and intelligent DSP protection
Each channel has high shelving EQ at 8 kHz and low shelving at 100 Hz for quick tone adjustments. Yamaha's DSP, with limiter circuits, keeps the sound clean at any level and protects the speakers and amplifier.
Room to expand the STAGEPAS 400BT PA system
Monitor outputs (L/Mono, R) can feed powered stage monitors or extra front-of-house speakers such as Yamaha's DBR or DXR models. Plugging a powered subwoofer into the mono Subwoofer output automatically applies a high-pass filter to the main speakers, and an optional FC5 footswitch turns the reverb on and off hands-free.

What is the difference between the STAGEPAS 400BT and the STAGEPAS 600BT?
The 600BT is the bigger sibling: 680 W dynamic output instead of 400 W, 10-inch woofers and 1.4-inch compression drivers instead of 8-inch and 1-inch, a 10-channel mixer instead of 8, 3-band channel EQ instead of 2-band, and up to 129 dB SPL per speaker versus 125 dB. The 400BT is lighter at 18.3 kg against 25.6 kg.

Speaker stands are not included; Yamaha lists the BMS10A mic stand adaptor and the FC5 footswitch as options.
Can I plug a guitar or a condenser microphone straight in?
Yes. Channel 4 has a Hi-Z switch for passive-pickup guitars and basses, so no DI box is needed. Channels 1 and 2 provide +30 V phantom power for condenser microphones.
Can I add a subwoofer or stage monitors later?
Yes. The mixer has Monitor outputs (L/Mono, R) for powered monitors or extra speakers and a mono Subwoofer output. Connecting a powered subwoofer automatically engages a high-pass filter on the STAGEPAS speakers. The speakers also have 35 mm pole sockets with StageLok.
