Why Pianists Choose the YDP-166
GrandTouch-E keyboard with escapement
Synthetic ebony and ivory keytops and escapement, with keys that respond consistently to every depth and strength of touch through their 10 mm stroke, much like a grand piano, and four touch settings.

Yamaha CFX concert grand sound
The piano Voice is sampled from the CFX, Yamaha’s flagship concert grand, tuned and adjusted note by note for colourful tone from the sparkling treble to the powerful bass, with 192-note polyphony.
VRM Lite string resonance
Virtual Resonance Modeling Lite recreates how a grand piano’s strings resonate together, changing with when you play the keys and how far you press the pedals.
Diffuser grille for clearer sound
Two 12 cm speakers driven by 20 W × 2 amplification sit behind a new diffuser grille that keeps treble notes clear even at a distance, for well-balanced sound in the room.
Three pedals with half-damper
Damper, sostenuto and soft pedals as on a grand, with a half-damper function so you control sustain by how far you press.
Comfortable headphone practice
Two headphone jacks, a Stereophonic Optimizer for a natural spread of sound, and Intelligent Acoustic Control that keeps the balance right at any volume.
Practice songs and recording
50 classics from the included music book and 303 lesson songs by Beyer, Burgmüller, Czerny and Hanon, plus a metronome and a 2-track recorder.
Bluetooth, 10 Voices and Smart Pianist
Stream music over Bluetooth where available, layer 10 Voices including electric piano, organ and strings, and see sheet music for all 353 preset songs in Smart Pianist.
