The Yamaha P-145BT is the entry-level model in Yamaha's P Series of portable digital pianos. It pairs a full 88-key Graded Hammer Compact (GHC) keyboard with the sound of the Yamaha CFIIIS concert grand, all in the slimmest body the P Series offers. Built-in Bluetooth audio lets you stream music from a smartphone or tablet through its speakers.

P-145BT GHC Weighted Keyboard
The newly developed Graded Hammer Compact keyboard gives all 88 keys a weighted, acoustic-style feel, with heavier keys in the low range and lighter keys in the high range. Yamaha designed it to match the playing feel of the GHS keyboard used in earlier P Series models while allowing a much shorter, thinner body. Matte black keytops and four touch settings (Hard, Medium, Soft and Fixed) let you tailor the response to your playing.
Yamaha CFIIIS Concert Grand Sound
The main piano Voice is sampled from the Yamaha CFIIIS full concert grand, the forerunner of Yamaha's flagship CFX, giving a bright, clear tone with a solid low end. Damper Resonance recreates the richer, sustained sound you hear when the damper pedal is held. With 64-note maximum polyphony and no tuning ever needed, it makes a dependable instrument for daily practice.
Compact Digital Piano for Any Room
The P-145BT is the most compact model in the P Series, measuring 1,326 mm wide, 129 mm high and 268 mm deep, and weighing 11.1 kg. It fits neatly on a desk or in a corner, and with an optional soft case you can carry it to lessons, rehearsals or gigs.
Bluetooth Audio Playback
Pair a Bluetooth-enabled smartphone or tablet with the P-145BT and play your favourite tracks through the piano's built-in speakers. You can then play along with the music, which makes practising songs you love far more enjoyable. Bluetooth on this model carries audio playback only.
Smart Pianist App and 303 Classical Scores

Alongside grand pianos you get electric pianos, pipe organs, harpsichord, strings, accordion and Di Zi, all chosen with simple physical buttons. Dual mode layers two Voices, such as strings over piano, while Duo mode lets a teacher and student play together on one instrument, which is handy for lessons. Twenty preset songs, including a demo for each Voice, show what the instrument can do.
Sound Boost and Optional Stand and Pedals
Sound Boost switches to a punchier, more powerful tone so the piano cuts through when you play with other musicians. For a more traditional setup, Yamaha offers the matching L-100 stand and the LP-5A three-pedal unit. The LP-5A and the optional FC3A foot pedal both support half-pedalling.

Both use the GHC weighted keyboard and have Bluetooth audio, but the P-225 steps up to the Yamaha CFX piano sound with VRM Lite, 192-note polyphony, 24 Voices, two headphone jacks and an AUX OUT. The P-145BT keeps things simpler with the CFIIIS sound, 64-note polyphony and 10 Voices, and is slightly lighter at 11.1 kg versus 11.5 kg. Choose the P-145BT for a straightforward first piano, or the P-225 if you want a richer sound and more features.
What is included in the box?
Yamaha lists the owner's manual, online member product registration, a music rest, a footswitch and the AC adaptor (PA-150B or an equivalent recommended by Yamaha). Headphones, a stand and a three-pedal unit are sold separately.
Which stand and pedals work with the P-145BT?
The matching stand is the Yamaha L-100, available at YMS as the L-100B in black. For three pedals, use the LP-5A pedal unit, or add the FC3A foot pedal for half-pedalling. The LP-1 pedal unit is designed for the P-225 and P-525, not the P-145BT.
Can I use the Smart Pianist app over Bluetooth?
The built-in Bluetooth on the P-145BT is for audio playback from your phone or tablet. To control the piano with Smart Pianist, or to record videos with Rec'n'Share, connect your device with a suitable cable. On iOS devices you can also connect Smart Pianist wirelessly using the optional Yamaha UD-BT01 adaptor.
How is the P-145BT powered?
It runs on a 12 V DC supply from the PA-150B AC adaptor or an equivalent recommended by Yamaha, and consumes 6 W when using the PA-150B. Keep the adaptor connected via the DC IN socket whenever you play.
