Yamaha Clavinova CLP-895GP Digital Grand Piano
The Yamaha Clavinova CLP-895GP is the flagship grand-piano-style model of the Clavinova CLP-800 Series. It pairs the GrandTouch wooden-key action with counterweights, Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial piano Voices and a three-way speaker system inside a self-standing grand cabinet. Yamaha describes its playing performance as essentially equivalent to the upright-style CLP-885.
It is built for serious pianists, advanced students, teachers and families who want the touch and sound of a concert grand together with the elegant presence of a grand piano, without the tuning and space demands of an acoustic instrument. It is available in Polished Ebony and Polished White.
Key Features
GrandTouch Keyboard with Counterweights
The CLP-895GP uses the GrandTouch keyboard, with wooden white keys, synthetic ebony and ivory keytops and escapement. Counterweights and 88-key Linear Graded Hammers give each key its own weight and return, so you can move from delicate pianissimo to full fortissimo with grand-piano control.
Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial Voices
Two of the world's great concert grands are on board: the brilliant Yamaha CFX and the warm, colourful Bösendorfer Imperial. Alongside them you get 53 Voices plus 480 XG Voices and 14 Drum/SFX Kits, with 256-note polyphony for rich, heavily pedalled passages.
Grand Expression Modeling and VRM
Grand Expression Modeling responds to how deeply, quickly and firmly you play, so subtle changes in touch become audible changes in tone. Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM) recreates string, damper, duplex scaling and body resonance in real time, giving the sound depth and life.
Three-Way Speakers in a Grand Cabinet
Each side of the CLP-895GP has a 16 cm spruce-cone speaker, an 8 cm speaker with waveguide and a 2.5 cm dome tweeter with waveguide, driven by (45 W + 45 W + 45 W) × 2 amplification. Yamaha's Grand Acoustic Imaging design spreads the sound around the room the way a grand piano does.
GrandTouch Pedals with GP Response Damper
The three pedals (damper with half-pedal, sostenuto and soft) reproduce the changing resistance of grand piano pedals. The GP Response Damper starts light and grows heavier as it takes effect, which makes precise half-pedalling far easier to learn and control.
Binaural Sound for Headphone Practice
The CFX and Bösendorfer Voices were binaurally sampled, so through headphones they sound as if you are sitting at a real grand piano rather than hearing sound inside your head. Stereophonic Optimizer gives the other piano Voices a similarly natural spread, so long practice sessions stay comfortable.
Lesson Songs, Rhythms and Recording
Practise with 50 Classics and 303 Lesson Songs, play along with 20 rhythms and use the metronome from 5 to 500 BPM. Record up to 250 MIDI Songs with 16 tracks, or capture WAV audio of up to 80 minutes per Song to a USB flash drive.
Bluetooth, Smart Pianist and USB Audio
Bluetooth audio lets you play music from your phone through the piano's speakers, and Bluetooth MIDI connects the CLP-895GP wirelessly to the Smart Pianist app. A built-in USB audio interface (44.1 kHz, 24-bit) sends high-quality stereo audio straight to a computer for recording or online lessons.
