Yamaha CLP-845 Clavinova Digital Piano with Wooden-Key GrandTouch-S Action
The Yamaha Clavinova CLP-845 is a CLP-800 Series console digital piano that brings wooden white keys to the GrandTouch-S keyboard. It combines sampled Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial concert grands with Grand Expression Modeling, Virtual Resonance Modeling and a two-way speaker system on each side.
It suits advancing students, returning adult players and teachers who want a more substantial key feel and fuller sound than the CLP-835 offers. Rhythms, extensive recording, Bluetooth and Smart Pianist support keep it just as useful for creative playing as for exam preparation.
Key Features

Wooden-key GrandTouch-S keyboard on the CLP-845
The CLP-845 is the model in the CLP-800 Series where wooden white keys join the GrandTouch-S action, alongside escapement and synthetic ebony and ivory keytops. The result is a more solid, acoustic-like feel under the fingers, with six touch settings to suit your technique.

Two-way speakers with (45 W + 45 W) × 2 power
Each side pairs a 16 cm speaker and an 8 cm speaker, both with diffusers, powered by (45 W + 45 W) × 2 amplification. This gives the CLP-845 noticeably more headroom and clarity across the range than the single-speaker CLP-835.
Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial
Choose between the brilliant Yamaha CFX and the warm, colourful Bösendorfer Imperial concert grands, both recorded across all 88 keys. With 256-note polyphony there is ample headroom for layered Voices and heavily pedalled music.

Grand Expression Modeling and VRM
Grand Expression Modeling responds to how deeply, quickly and firmly you strike each key, while Virtual Resonance Modeling recreates string, damper, duplex scaling and body resonance as you play. Together they give the CLP-845 digital piano a living, responsive tone.

GrandTouch pedals with half-pedal control
The three pedals are built to grand-piano proportions, firmer as you press and lighter on the return. Half-pedal support on the damper helps you develop fine pedalling control for classical repertoire.

Binaural headphone sound
The CFX and Bösendorfer Voices are binaurally sampled, so on headphones they sound as if you are seated at a real grand. The Stereophonic Optimizer gives other piano Voices a similar natural spread, and two headphone jacks allow shared practice.

38 Voices, rhythms and recording
Explore 38 Voices including fortepianos, electric pianos and organs, with Dual, Split and Duo modes and 20 rhythms. Record up to 16 MIDI tracks or save WAV audio of up to 80 minutes per Song to a USB flash drive.

Bluetooth and Smart Pianist connectivity
Bluetooth audio streams music from your phone through the piano's speakers, and Bluetooth MIDI links to the free Smart Pianist app for scores and settings. USB TO HOST doubles as a 24-bit audio interface for home recording.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is the CLP-845 different from the CLP-835?
Both share the same Voices, rhythms and recording features. The CLP-845 adds wooden white keys to its GrandTouch-S keyboard and a two-way speaker system with (45 W + 45 W) × 2 amplification, versus the CLP-835's 16 cm speakers and 30 W × 2. It weighs 60 kg against 57 kg for the CLP-835.
Should I step up to the CLP-875 instead?
The CLP-875 moves to the GrandTouch keyboard with 88-key Linear Graded Hammers, adds the GP Response Damper pedal and a three-way speaker system with Bidirectional Horns, and uses touch-sensor panel controls. The CLP-845 keeps the GrandTouch-S action with wooden white keys and a two-way system.
Does the CLP-845 have wooden keys?
Yes. Its GrandTouch-S keyboard uses wooden white keys with synthetic ebony and ivory keytops and escapement.
What's in the box?
Yamaha India lists the Owner’s Manual, the “50 Classical Music Masterpieces” music book, Online Member Product Registration and a bench. The PA-500 AC adaptor is a required accessory and is sold separately.
What power does the CLP-845 use?
It runs from Yamaha's PA-500 AC adaptor (a required accessory, sold separately) via a 24 V DC IN socket and consumes 30 W. An auto power-off function helps save energy when the piano is left idle.
Can I record my playing on the CLP-845?
Yes. You can store up to 250 MIDI Songs with 16 tracks each in internal memory, or record stereo WAV audio to a USB flash drive. Connected by USB, it also works as an audio and MIDI interface for a computer.
