The Yamaha PSR-I300 is the entry-level model in Yamaha's PSR-I range of Indian portable keyboards. Its 61 touch-sensitive keys give access to 644 Voices and 224 Styles, with dedicated Indian instruments, Indian Styles and Riyaz practice patterns built in.

It is made for beginners and anyone starting to explore Indian music, from students learning Raga scales to hobbyists who want to play film songs and devotional music with an accompaniment. Lessons, recording and USB connectivity give it room to grow with your playing.

Play chords with your left hand and the chosen Style supplies rhythm and accompaniment, from rock and jazz to 30 Indian Styles. Smart Chord lets you play with one finger, the Music Database offers 220 ready-made Voice and Style combinations (50 of them Indian) and the Chord Dictionary shows how to form chords.

Riyaz for Indian Music Practice

Riyaz provides 15 patterns of Tabla or Mridangam with Tanpura, each with three sections. Use it to practise scales and singing, or as a backing for Indian melodies, without needing a separate accompanist.

Nine Registration Memory buttons store your favourite setups for instant recall, even mid-performance, with Freeze to keep selected settings unchanged. The recorder holds five Songs on two tracks (approx. 10,000 notes), so you can record each hand separately at a slower tempo and play them back.

USB to Host carries two-way MIDI and 44.1 kHz, 16-bit stereo digital audio, so you can compose with DAW software or use software sound sources. Yamaha's free Rec'n'Share app lets you record performance videos to share, and the optional UD-BT01 adaptor adds wireless MIDI for iOS devices and Mac. DAW software is not included.

Split, Duo and Transpose

Split assigns different instruments to the left and right of the keyboard, such as bass and piano. Duo divides it in the middle so a teacher and student can play side by side, and Transpose shifts the key by up to 12 semitones to suit a singer.
