The Yamaha STAGEPAS 1K mkII is an all-in-one column PA: a 12-inch powered subwoofer with a built-in 5-channel digital mixer, topped by a slim line array of ten 1.5-inch drivers. An 1100 W Class-D amplifier drives the system to 125 dB SPL with 170° of horizontal coverage, and Bluetooth, SPX reverb and app control are built in.

It is designed for solo artists, duos and small bands, mobile DJs and corporate AV, where a discreet system with deep bass and wide, even coverage is more practical than a pair of speakers on stands. Setup takes about a minute, with no speaker cables or stands needed.

Ten 1.5-inch drivers are arranged in a J-curve array that covers 170° horizontally and 30° vertically. This spreads clear, consistent sound from the front row to the back of the room, so the audience hears much the same mix wherever they sit.

The bass-reflex subwoofer houses a 12-inch woofer, which Yamaha describes as the largest in its class, in a compact cabinet. Yamaha's Twisted Flare Port reduces port noise, so the system reaches down to 37 Hz with deep, clean bass.

1100 W Class-D amplifier

A 1100 W (dynamic) Class-D amplifier powers both the array and the subwoofer, producing up to 125 dB SPL at 1 m. The 240 Hz crossover hands the low end to the subwoofer, giving a full 37 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range.

5-channel digital mixer built into the STAGEPAS 1K mkII

Three mono mic/line inputs take microphones and instruments, and channels 2 and 3 have Hi-Z inputs for acoustic-electric guitars and basses, with no DI box needed. A stereo line input, usable as two mono inputs, and Bluetooth handle playback, while Link and Monitor outputs let you expand the system.

One-knob EQ, MODE compression and SPX reverb

1-knob EQ on each channel adjusts several EQ bands at once: turn it left to cut low end for speech or right to add body for music. The master MODE control applies multiband compression optimised for Speech, Music or Club, and four SPX reverb types add ambience to vocals and acoustic instruments.

Priority Ducker and STAGEPAS Controller app

Priority Ducker automatically lowers background music on the stereo channel when someone speaks into a microphone, then brings it back when they stop. The STAGEPAS Controller app for iOS and Android adjusts levels, 1-knob EQ or 4-band PEQ over Bluetooth, saves settings for reuse, and can control several units.

Slot the two spacers and the array speaker into the subwoofer and the system is ready, with no speaker cables or stands required. The ABS subwoofer cabinet has a hard-wearing polyurea coating, and the included fitted cover has pouches for the spacers and array.

Link two systems for bigger events

Link two STAGEPAS 1K mkII units, or one with a Yamaha DXL1K, for wider coverage and more output in stereo or mono. In mono, both units' inputs remain available, giving up to six mono and two stereo inputs with two 1K mkII systems. The optional DL-SP1K dolly and FC5 reverb footswitch add convenience.

How does the STAGEPAS 1K mkII differ from the STAGEPAS 600BT?

The 1K mkII is a single column with a 12-inch powered subwoofer and ten-driver line array, 1100 W dynamic power, 37 Hz low-end extension, 170° horizontal coverage and app control, but a smaller 5-channel mixer. The 600BT uses two separate 10-inch box speakers with a 10-channel detachable mixer and 680 W dynamic power, which suits larger input counts and left/right speaker placement.

Do I need speaker stands or speaker cables?

No. The two spacers and the array speaker slot directly into the subwoofer, so the system needs no separate stand or speaker cable. Fully assembled it stands up to 2,000 mm tall and weighs up to 23.0 kg.

What is in the box?

Yamaha lists a power cord and a fitted cover as included accessories, along with the subwoofer, the array speaker and two spacers that make up the system. The DL-SP1K dolly and FC5 footswitch are optional.

Can I plug in a guitar and play music from my phone?

Yes. Channels 2 and 3 have Hi-Z inputs for acoustic-electric guitars and basses. Music can stream over Bluetooth 5.0 (A2DP with SBC and AAC) or connect to the stereo input, which takes standard phone jacks and a 3.5 mm mini jack.

What is the power rating?

Yamaha specifies a Class-D amplifier with a dynamic power rating of 1100 W and a maximum output level of 125 dB SPL at 1 m on axis. Yamaha does not publish a separate continuous power figure for this model.
