Ten Channels, Effects, USB — and Real Faders
The MG10XUF has the same audio specification as the MG10XU: four D-PRE mic channels, three stereo line channels, one-knob compressor, three-band EQ, 24 SPX programmes and a 24-bit/192 kHz USB interface. The difference is the control surface — 60 mm channel faders instead of rotary knobs.
Faders let you ride a level by feel and see the whole mix at a glance, which matters when you are mixing live rather than setting and leaving. The trade is size and weight: 3.3 kg and a noticeably deeper chassis than the 2.1 kg MG10XU.

What You Get
- Channel faders — the reason this model exists. Faster and more precise to ride live than knobs, and the mix state is readable across the desk in one look.
- USB Audio Class 2.0 interface, up to 192 kHz at 24-bit, for recording the mix and playing back into the desk. Cubase AI download included.
- SPX effects, 24 programmes, with parameter control and an FC5 foot-switch jack.
- Four D-PRE mic preamps, +48V phantom power, 26 dB pad, 80 Hz high-pass filter.
- One-knob compressor and three-band EQ (100 Hz / 2.5 kHz / 10 kHz, ±15 dB).
- One AUX/FX send and a monitor output, balanced XLR and TRS stereo out. 275 × 110 × 390 mm, 3.3 kg, PA-10 adapter supplied.
Reading the MG Model Names
Yamaha's MG names are a code, and once you know it the whole range makes sense at a glance:
- The number is the channel count — 06, 10, 12, 16, 20.
- X adds the SPX digital effects processor (reverbs, delays, chorus).
- U adds a USB audio interface for recording straight to a computer.
- F means channel faders instead of rotary knobs.
- K means the reverse — knobs instead of faders, for a shallower, lighter console.
So the MG10XUF is ten channels with effects, USB and faders — the only ten-channel MG that has them.

FAQ
Q. Is it worth the premium over the MG10XU?
Only for the faders — every audio specification is the same. If the desk sits in a fixed install and gets set once, the MG10XU does the identical job for less. If you mix live and ride levels through a set, the faders earn their money.
Q. Would the MG12XU be a better buy?
Possibly. The MG12XU also has faders and gives you twelve channels, six mic inputs, two AUX sends and two subgroups — a genuinely bigger console. The MG12XUK gives twelve channels and six mic inputs for less than the MG10XUF, but on knobs. Compare the table above against what you actually need to plug in.
Q. Can I record each channel separately?
No — the USB interface carries a stereo mix. For multitrack recording from a mixer, look at the MGX12 or MGX16 digital consoles.
Q. How big is it?
275 × 110 × 390 mm and 3.3 kg — deeper and heavier than the 2.1 kg MG10XU, because faders need travel. It still runs from the supplied external adapter rather than a mains inlet.
