Touch Response
Heavier playing gives louder tones and lighter playing quieter ones, with Soft, Medium, Hard and Off settings.

Have fun, get better
Three-step lessons let you practise the built-in Songs at your own level, with the right hand, the left hand or both together, repeating any phrase as often as you like. The keyboard evaluates each practice session and gives you feedback, so you can see your progress.

3-Step Lesson
Learn the built-in Songs without reading music: listen, learn the timing, then play while the keyboard waits for the right notes.

Keys to Success
Phrases taken from the built-in Songs help you master difficult sections one step at a time.

Let the keyboard play musically suited chord progressions, so playing solo feels like playing with a band.

FAQ
Q. Who is the Yamaha PSR-E383 best suited to?
Yamaha designed it for first-time players and performers. It suits beginners, students and hobbyists who want touch-sensitive keys, a large sound library and built-in lessons that help them keep improving.
Q. Are the keys touch-sensitive?
Yes. The 61 keys respond to playing strength, with Soft, Medium, Hard and Off touch-response settings.
Q. How do the built-in lessons work?
The 3-Step Lesson teaches the built-in Songs in three stages (Listening, Timing and Waiting), with each hand separately or both together. Keys to Success breaks Songs into short phrases, A-B Repeat loops difficult passages and Rhythm & Touch Tutor builds timing and touch control. The keyboard scores each session so you can track progress.
Q. How does the PSR-E383 differ from the PSR-E483?
The Yamaha PSR-E483 steps up to 860 Voices, 345 Styles, 64-note polyphony, a microphone input, line outputs, Quick Sampling, a Looper, USB to Device and 6 W + 6 W speakers. The PSR-E383 is lighter at 4.4 kg and has 125 built-in lesson Songs with Keys to Success.
Q. Should I choose the PSR-E383 or the PSR-I300?
Choose the Yamaha PSR-I300 if you want to learn Indian music: it adds 30 Indian Voices, 30 Indian Styles, Riyaz Lite and Raga scale lessons. The PSR-E383 suits learners who mainly play Western and international music, with more Styles and Auto Chord Play.
Q. Is Duo mode useful for lessons?
Yes. Duo splits the keyboard into two identical ranges, each with its own middle C, so a teacher and student can play the same part side by side.
Q. Does it have a microphone input?
No. It has AUX IN, a combined headphones/output jack, a sustain pedal jack and USB to Host, but no microphone input.
Q. Can it connect to a computer, phone or tablet?
Yes. USB to Host carries MIDI and 44.1 kHz, 16-bit stereo audio to compatible computers and smart devices, and works with Yamaha’s Rec’n’Share app. A suitable cable or adaptor may be needed.
Q. Can it run on batteries?
Yes. It runs on a PA-130 AC adaptor (or an equivalent recommended by Yamaha) or six AA alkaline, manganese or rechargeable Ni-MH batteries.
Q. What is included in the box?
Yamaha lists the music rest, and its India product page describes the AC adaptor as included. The Song Book is a free download. Package contents can vary by market, so please confirm with YMS.
