Yamaha THR10II Desktop Guitar Amplifier
The Yamaha THR10II is the mains-powered, 20-watt stereo model in Yamaha's THR-II desktop amp range. It combines Virtual Circuitry Modeling amp sounds, eight effects, Bluetooth audio, app editing and a driver-free USB audio interface in a compact cabinet measuring 368 × 183 × 140 mm and weighing 3.0 kg.
It is made for guitarists who practise, write and record at home or in a small studio and want realistic amp tone at sensible volumes, plus a speaker that also plays back music from a phone or computer. Bass players and acoustic-electric players are catered for too, with dedicated bass and microphone models.

Virtual Circuitry Modeling Amp Tones
Yamaha's patented VCM technology models amplifier circuits down to individual components and how they interact, recreating the nuances that give boutique valve amps their sound and feel. You get that character at home-friendly volume levels.
15 Guitar Amp Models in Three Banks
The THR10II offers Classic, Boutique and Modern banks of five guitar amp models each, running from sparkling cleans and bluesy crunch to tight, high-gain tones suited to extended-range guitars. Five are on the front panel and the other ten are reached through the THR Remote app.
Bass, Acoustic and Flat Voicings
Each bank also includes a bass amp model, a microphone model for acoustic-electric guitars and a flat voicing with no modelling for other sources. One of each is available on the amp, with two more of each through the app, for three bass, three acoustic and three flat options in total.
Eight Effects, Tuner and Tap Tempo
Two effect circuits run side by side: one for chorus, flanger, phaser and tremolo, the other for echo, echo/reverb, spring reverb and hall reverb. A compressor and noise gate are added in the THR Remote editor, and the TAP/TUNER switch gives you a chromatic tuner and tap tempo.
20 W Hi-Fi Stereo Sound
Two 8 cm full-range speakers driven by 10 W + 10 W of power give the THR10II a full stereo image for both guitar and music playback. Developed with Yamaha's AV division and using Extended Stereo Technology, the cabinet sounds far wider than its size suggests.
Bluetooth, THR Remote and Five User Memories
Stream music over Bluetooth and play along, or use the free THR Remote app for iOS and Android to shape your tone from across the room, with PC and Mac versions also available. Five User Memory switches recall your favourite setups instantly, and Bluetooth also supports compatible third-party controllers, sold separately, for calling up presets hands-free.
USB Audio Interface for Recording
The THR10II is USB Audio Class 2.0 compliant, so it connects to a Mac, Windows PC or mobile device without installing drivers and works as an audio interface; an ASIO driver for Windows is also available. Steinberg Cubase AI and Cubasis LE are bundled, and the iOS app Rec'n'Share lets you record and share performances.

What is the difference between the THR10II and the THR5?
The THR5 is a model from the original THR series. It has 10 W (5 W + 5 W) output, five amp types and a standard stereo headphone jack, weighs 2.0 kg and can also run on AA batteries. The THR10II doubles the output to 20 W (10 W + 10 W), offers 15 guitar amp models plus bass, acoustic and flat voicings, and adds THR-II features such as Bluetooth audio, THR Remote editing and five user memories.
Should I choose the THR10II or the THR5A for acoustic guitar?
The THR5A is dedicated to acoustic-electric guitar, with microphone simulations (condenser, dynamic, tube and nylon) plus an EG CLN setting for electric guitar. The THR10II is primarily an electric guitar amp, but includes three acoustic microphone models alongside its guitar and bass models, so it suits players who switch between electric and acoustic.
Is this the same as the THR10II Wireless?
No. This is the standard THR10II, which runs from its AC adaptor and has no built-in rechargeable battery or guitar wireless receiver. Yamaha offers those features on the separately named THR10II Wireless.
What comes in the box?
Yamaha lists the THR10II AC adaptor (YNT345-1530, 15 V 3 A), a Quick Guide and the Cubase AI download information sheet. A guitar cable and USB cable are not listed among the supplied accessories.
Can I use headphones and play along with songs?
Yes. The PHONES output is a stereo mini jack for silent practice, and you can play music into the amp over Bluetooth or through the stereo mini AUX input, with separate GUITAR OUTPUT and AUDIO OUTPUT knobs to balance your guitar against the track.
Can I play bass through the THR10II?
Yes. Each of the three amp banks includes a bass amp model, giving three bass voicings in total (one on the amp and two through THR Remote), which makes the THR10II handy for bass practice at home.
