The Yamaha PSR-E583 is a 61-key portable keyboard designed with performers in mind. It brings 890 Voices, 345 Styles, pitch-bend and modulation wheels, sampling and looping into a clear grid-style panel with illuminated buttons.
It suits gigging keyboardists, singers, worship musicians and advancing learners who want stage-ready controls without stepping up to an arranger workstation. A microphone input with vocal effects, line outputs and USB-C connection let it move easily between home practice, the studio and live shows.
Key Features
890 Voices and 345 Styles on the PSR-E583
Increased internal storage lets the PSR-E583 carry 890 higher-resolution Voices, from electric pianos, organs and vibraphones to strings. Its 345 Styles cover rock, dance, jazz and music from around the world, and follow your left-hand chords with rhythm, bass and harmony parts. World content includes Afrobeats with Igbo instruments, South American reeds and percussion, and traditional organ Voices for worship.
Super Articulation Lite Voices
Nineteen Super Articulation Lite Voices recreate details that keyboards usually miss, such as guitar string noise or a wind player's breath. The panel's articulation switches let you trigger these effects as you play for more convincing solos.
DSP and Motion Effects
A DSP engine with 41 DSP1 and 12 DSP2 types adds tone, texture and layered parts, and one press of the DSP button switches it on or off. Motion Effect adds moving effects such as phaser and tremolo, with 57 types to choose from.
Hands-on control: wheels, knobs and expression pedal
The pitch-bend wheel brings guitar, sax, trumpet and synth lines to life, while the modulation wheel adds vibrato or rotary-speaker effects. Two Live Control knobs adjust your sound on the fly, and an optional expression pedal controls volume independently of the master volume knob.
Quick Sampling and Looper
Record a short phrase from the microphone, AUX IN, USB audio or a WAV file to one of four Quick Sampling slots (about 9.6 seconds each), then use SYNC so playback starts on the next bar of the Style. The Looper records and repeats chord progressions, drum patterns and phrases so your hands are free to play over them.
Auto Chord Play and Track Control
Auto Chord Play runs one of 100 preset chord progressions, or up to 10 of your own, while a Style plays, leaving you free to solo. Track Control lets you mute or unmute Style parts, revoice tracks and balance their volumes to shape each section of a song.
PSR-E583 portable keyboard connectivity
USB TO HOST (Type-C) carries audio and MIDI to computers and smart devices, and USB TO DEVICE stores data on a flash drive. L/L+R and R line outputs feed PA and studio gear, while the microphone input with vocal effects lets you sing through the 12 W + 12 W speakers. Mega Boost adds approximately +3 dB or +6 dB when you need more volume.

The PSR-E583 has 890 Voices (860 on the PSR-E483) and 19 Super Articulation Lite Voices (15 on the E483). It adds a modulation wheel and an expression-pedal input, and its amplifiers are 12 W x 2 compared with 6 W x 2. Both share 345 Styles, Quick Sampling, the Looper and USB-C audio/MIDI.
Should I choose the PSR-E583 or the PSR-I610?
Both have 12 W + 12 W speakers, pitch-bend and modulation wheels, volume pedal support, Quick Sampling and a Looper. The PSR-I610 is tailored for Indian music, with 50 Indian Voices, 70 Indian Styles and 50 Riyaz (Tabla/Tanpura) patterns. The PSR-E583 suits performers focused on international and world genres.
What is included in the box?
The PSR-E583 comes with the Owner's Manual, a music rest, the PA-300C AC adaptor and its power cord. Stands, pedals, headphones and microphones are optional extras.
Can the PSR-E583 run on batteries?
Yes. Besides the PA-300C AC adaptor, it runs on six AA alkaline, manganese or Ni-MH rechargeable batteries, which makes it easy to take to rehearsals and outdoor events.
Can I connect a microphone and an expression pedal?
Yes. The microphone input lets you sing through the speakers with built-in vocal effects, and the expression pedal input accepts an optional pedal such as the Yamaha FC7 for volume control. A separate foot switch jack handles sustain, arpeggio hold or articulation.
Can it work with a computer or DAW?
Yes. The USB TO HOST Type-C port sends and receives MIDI and works as a 44.1 kHz, 16-bit stereo USB audio interface with computers and smart devices.
