Yamaha MGP32X 32-Channel Premium Analogue Mixing Console
The Yamaha MGP32X is the 32-input model in Yamaha's premium MGP Series of analogue mixers. Its 24 mono mic/line channels and 4 stereo line channels run on discrete Class-A D-PRE mic preamps and X-pressive EQ, and digital features are added where they help most: twin effects processors, a Stereo Hybrid Channel with automatic ducking and levelling, and USB device recording.
With 24 microphone inputs, the MGP32X is built for larger stages and installations: theatres and auditoriums, large houses of worship, convention and banquet venues, festival stages and rental inventories. It gives engineers the sends, inserts and output zones a big event needs, while keeping the familiar hands-on feel of an analogue desk.
Key Features

24 D-PRE Mic Preamps on the MGP32X
Each of the 24 mic inputs uses Yamaha's D-PRE, a discrete Class-A preamp with an inverted Darlington circuit originally developed for Yamaha's high-end recording gear. It delivers solid, natural bass and smooth, open highs. Every input has its own +48V phantom power and a 100 Hz, 12 dB/oct high-pass filter.
X-pressive EQ Modelled on Classic Modules
Yamaha created X-pressive EQ after modelling the circuits of celebrated vintage EQs and identifying the "X-shaped" curves behind their musical response. Very steep high and low shelving gives strong, precise control over tone. The three-band EQ on mono channels offers up to ±15 dB: 8 kHz high shelf, a peaking mid and 125 Hz low shelf.

Sixteen One-Knob Compressors
Channels 9 to 24 each have a one-knob compressor, giving you 16 channels of easy dynamics control for vocals, drums, bass and more without patching outboard units. LED indicators show when each compressor is working, so adjustments are quick even mid-show.
REV-X and SPX Effects Running Together
Two separate effects processors are on board. FX1 is Yamaha's REV-X reverb, with eight high-resolution Hall, Room and Plate programmes; FX2 is the SPX multi-effect processor, with 16 programmes and adjustable parameters. Use both at the same time, fed by two dedicated FX sends that leave the six AUX sends free.
Sends, Groups and Matrix Outputs for Big Systems
The MGP32X provides six AUX sends on balanced XLR, four group buses plus the stereo bus, two matrix outputs and a mono out. That covers monitor mixes, subgroups for drums or choir, delay or overflow zones and a separate feed for recording or broadcast. Insert points on all 24 mono channels accept outboard processors, and a dedicated talkback input keeps communication simple.
Stereo Hybrid Channel, Priority Ducker and Leveler
The Stereo Hybrid Channel uses Yamaha DSP behind analogue-style controls, with a mid-sweep three-band EQ and onboard A/D and D/A converters. Priority Ducker automatically dips background music whenever the priority microphone is used, then brings it back, and the attenuation is adjustable. Leveler evens out volume between different tracks for hands-off playback.
USB Device Recording and Playback
Capture each event to a USB storage device as a WAV or MP3 file, with either the Stereo Out or Matrix Out 1 and 2 as the source, and play audio files back from USB. Because WAV recording needs high transfer speeds, Yamaha recommends a fast USB hard disk or SSD; MP3 recording works with standard USB sticks too.

Built-In Universal Power Supply
An internal power supply accepting 100 to 240 V at 50/60 Hz means no external adaptor to carry or mount. Yamaha designed it to cope with fluctuating mains power, which is valuable for touring and permanent installations alike.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the MGP32X and the MGP24X?
They share the same preamps, EQ, dual effects, sends, group buses and matrix outputs. The MGP32X has 24 mic inputs (32 line inputs in total), 24 channel inserts and compressors on channels 9 to 24, and is 1,027 mm wide at 19 kg. The MGP24X has 16 mic inputs (24 line inputs), 16 inserts and compressors on channels 9 to 16, at 819 mm wide and 15.5 kg.
Can I use outboard processors with the MGP32X?
Yes. All 24 mono channels have insert points, so outboard compressors, gates and channel strips can be patched straight into individual channels.
Does the MGP32X record?
It records a stereo source, either the Stereo Out or Matrix Out 1 and 2, to a USB storage device in WAV or MP3 format, and plays files back from USB. For WAV, Yamaha recommends a fast USB hard disk or SSD.
What power does the MGP32X need?
It has a built-in universal power supply for 100 to 240 V AC at 50/60 Hz, so it plugs directly into the mains without an external adaptor. Maximum power consumption is 86 W.
Who is the MGP32X for?
It is aimed at engineers and venues handling larger line-ups: theatres, auditoriums, large houses of worship, conference and banquet venues, festival stages and sound rental companies that need 24 microphone inputs on an analogue console.
