The LHS1455 brings Yamaha's Live Custom Hybrid Oak shell concept to a compact snare. Its 7-ply, 7.3 mm oak/phenolic hybrid shell places a dense phenolic sheet between oak plies to accentuate attack, projection and dynamic range.
2.3 mm steel Dyna Hoops tighten the response, while dark-silver Absolute Lugs, a Q-type strainer and a 25-strand high-carbon steel wire give the drum premium Live Custom hardware throughout.

The shell concept is derived from Yamaha's PHX and Absolute Hybrid Maple families. A dense phenolic sheet sits between oak plies, creating a rigid 7.3 mm structure that Yamaha uses to broaden dynamic range and accentuate attack and projection.
In the 14 × 5.5-inch LHS1455, that construction gives the player strong presence without relying on a deeper shell.
Absolute Lugs with Internal Locks
Yamaha's exclusive Absolute Lugs give the LHS1455 the sophisticated hardware profile of the Live Custom Hybrid Oak series. Their dark-silver finish coordinates with the hoops and other fittings.
An internal lug-lock mechanism adds tuning security when the drum is played hard during rehearsals and live sets.
Heavy-Duty Q-Type Strainer
The Q-type release is built for solid, stable and smooth operation, with accessible tension adjustment and straightforward snare-wire replacement.
Yamaha pairs it with a DC3-type butt side and the SN1425H 25-strand high-carbon steel wire for a dense, even response across the resonant head.
