1.0 mm Steel Shell with an Outward Bead
The thin steel shell gives Stage Custom Steel its crisp, direct response. Yamaha forms the centre bead outward to reinforce the shell while retaining the lively metallic character players expect from a steel snare.
Paired with lighter triple-flange hoops, it produces an open voice and dependable rim-shot attack without the mass of a die-cast hoop.
Simple, Proven Strainer Hardware
The B-type release provides direct snare-wire engagement and accessible tension adjustment. Yamaha pairs it with a DC-type butt side for a compact, practical system suited to frequent rehearsal and stage use.
The supplied 20-strand high-carbon steel wire balances sensitivity with a solid backbeat across both depths.
