Key Features
Traditional Western body with a full acoustic voice
The FX280’s full-size Traditional Western body is designed for rich projection and resonance. Its broad lower bout gives strummed chords satisfying depth while retaining enough definition for melody work, fingerstyle practice and accompaniment.
Spruce top for clarity and projection
Spruce is valued for its responsiveness and musical balance. It helps the FX280 produce clear chord definition, lively projection and a versatile voice that supports both lighter playing and energetic strumming.
Yamaha A.R.T. pickup for natural amplified tone
Yamaha’s Acoustic Resonance Transducer technology is designed to capture more of the guitar’s body resonance and playing dynamics. The result is a warmer, more acoustic-sounding signal through an amplifier, mixer, audio interface or PA system.
SYSTEM68 controls and built-in tuner
The onboard SYSTEM68 provides accessible volume and tone controls, a built-in tuner and a line output. You can tune quietly and make quick adjustments without carrying a separate tuner or complicated external preamp.
Handcrafted in India to Yamaha standards
The FX280 is manufactured at Yamaha Music India’s Chennai factory. It is built for Indian players with Yamaha’s established focus on durability, stability, consistency and dependable playability.
