The Flagship DTX, in Four Configurations
The DTX10 is the top of the DTX range. Wooden-shell pads, a 12-inch floor tom rather than a third 10-inch, the KP128 12-inch kick tower, a 17-inch ride and the heavy RS10-HXR rack — a kit built to be played hard and set up the way you want it.
The step that matters most is the module. The DTX-PROX carries 70 preset kits, 200 user kits and 733 voices, seven LED rotary faders, and eight individual outputs with a routing matrix — so snare, kick and overheads can go to a front-of-house desk or an interface as separate channels rather than a stereo mix.

- Direct recording to USB flash memory in WAV, plus Bluetooth audio in and class-compliant USB to a computer.

TCS or Mesh? Choose Above
This is not only a feel choice on the DTX10
On the DTX8 pair, TCS and mesh differ only in feel and noise. Here there is a functional difference too: snare hit-point detection works on TCS only. Both versions have it on the ride. We would rather you knew that before ordering than after.
TCS — the DTX10K-X
Quieter than mesh, with a softer and more damped rebound, plus snare hit-point sensing. The choice if positional snare response matters to your playing, or if room noise is the deciding constraint.
Mesh — the DTX10K-M
REMO two-ply mesh gives the livelier, springier rebound many drummers prefer and the feel most players coming from other electronic kits will recognise — at the cost of snare hit-point detection and a little more noise in the room.
Real Wood or Black Forest?
Finish changes nothing about the sound. Real Wood shows the grain of the shells and suits a warmer, more traditional-looking setup. Black Forest is the darker, more understated option and hides marks better on a working stage kit. Both are selected above.

FAQ
Q. What is the difference between the DTX10K-X and the DTX10K-M?
The head surface — TCS on the X, REMO two-ply mesh on the M — and one functional point: snare hit-point detection is on the TCS version only. Both have it on the 17-inch ride. Module, cymbals, kick, rack and finishes are identical.
Q. What is hit-point detection, and will I notice it?
The module reads where on the pad you strike and changes the sound accordingly, so moving from the centre out towards the edge shifts the tone as it would on a real drum. On the ride it is transformative for jazz and detailed playing. On the snare it matters most if you play a lot of quiet, positional work.
Q. What do the eight individual outputs do for me?
They let you send drums out as separate channels rather than one stereo mix — kick on its own, snare on its own, cymbals grouped — so a live engineer or a recording setup can treat each independently. A routing matrix decides what goes where.
Q. Is the DTX10 worth it over the DTX8?
If you gig or record, yes — the DTX-PROX module, individual outputs, 12-inch floor tom, 12-inch kick tower, 17-inch ride and heavier rack are all real upgrades. For home practice alone, the DTX8 gives you the same wooden shells and the same head choice for less.
Q. Can I record straight to a USB stick?
Yes. The DTX-PROX records WAV at 44.1 kHz, 16-bit to USB flash memory, and also connects class-compliant over USB to a computer.
Q. Can I add more pads later?
Yes. The DTX-PROX has ten trigger input jacks and supports up to 14 pads with Y-cables.
