Yamaha Arius YDP-146 Digital Piano

Yamaha CFX Piano Sound and Bluetooth in a Home Console

The Yamaha Arius YDP-146 is an 88-key console digital piano that brings the sound of Yamaha’s flagship CFX concert grand into a compact home cabinet. Its GHS (Graded Hammer Standard) keyboard with matte black keytops provides weighted, acoustic-piano-style resistance for building good technique.

Virtual Resonance Modeling Lite and 192-note polyphony add depth to the piano tone, while Bluetooth lets you stream music and connect with Smart Pianist and other learning apps. This listing includes Rosewood, Black and White finishes, subject to availability.

Yamaha CFX Grand Piano Voice

The piano Voice captures the rich tone of Yamaha’s flagship CFX concert grand piano. Ten Voices, Dual mode for layering two sounds and four reverb types add variety for practice and play.

VRM Lite and 192-note polyphony

Virtual Resonance Modeling Lite (VRM Lite) simulates the complex resonance of a grand piano’s strings, and 192-note maximum polyphony helps keep sustained passages clear and full.

88-note GHS weighted keyboard

The Graded Hammer Standard keyboard with matte black keytops gives weighted, acoustic-piano-style resistance across all 88 keys. Hard, Medium, Soft and Fixed touch settings adjust the response to the player.

Bluetooth and Smart Pianist

Bluetooth lets you stream music through the piano’s speakers, control settings and connect with learning apps, including Yamaha’s free Smart Pianist app (availability varies by region). USB TO HOST also works as a 44.1 kHz, 24-bit stereo audio interface.

Three pedals, Duo mode and quiet practice

Damper (with half-pedal function), sostenuto and soft pedals support expressive playing. Duo mode lets a teacher and student play side by side, and two headphone jacks allow quiet shared practice.

8 W × 2 speakers and learning songs

An 8 W × 2 stereo amplifier drives 12 cm speakers with diffuser grilles. 50 Classics and 303 Lesson Songs are built in, and a two-track recorder lets you record and review each hand separately.

Q. Who is the Yamaha YDP-146 suited to?

It suits beginners, students and families who want Yamaha CFX piano sound, a weighted 88-key GHS keyboard, three pedals and Bluetooth in a home console cabinet.

Q. How does the YDP-146 differ from the YDP-166?

Both share Yamaha CFX sound, VRM Lite, 192-note polyphony and Bluetooth. The YDP-166 steps up to the GrandTouch-E keyboard with escapement and synthetic ebony and ivory keytops, and to a 20 W × 2 amplifier instead of 8 W × 2.

Q. Can I use it with Smart Pianist?

Yes. Yamaha states that the free Smart Pianist app connects to the YDP-146 via Bluetooth. A USB TO HOST port is also provided for wired connection to a computer or smart device.

Q. What does Yamaha list in the box?

Yamaha lists the owner’s manual, the “50 Classical Music Masterpieces” music book and online product registration. The bench and PA-150 AC adaptor vary by area, so please confirm current India-market contents with our team.
