Should I choose the C40 or the C70?
Both share the same body size, spruce top, scale length, nut width and woods. The C70 adds gold YTM-06 tuners and black-and-white body binding, while the C40 has chrome RM-1252X tuners and black binding.

You get the guitar, strung with medium-tension nylon strings. Yamaha does not supply a case or accessories with the C40, so you may want to add a gig bag, tuner and spare strings.
Does the C40 have a solid top?
Yamaha specifies the C40 top simply as spruce. If you want a solid spruce top, the Yamaha CG122MS lists a solid spruce top with nato back and sides.
