A Compact 10-Inch Passive Speaker Built for Fixed Installations

The Yamaha CHR10 is a 2-way, bass-reflex passive loudspeaker with a 10-inch woofer and a 1.4-inch HF compression driver. Yamaha designed it for fixed installations, combining customised transducers with the same high-grade plywood construction used in its high-end CZR Series.

It is rated at 175 W noise, 350 W program and 700 W peak into 8 Ω, with a frequency range of 55 Hz–20 kHz (−10 dB). A rotatable horn, rigging points and an optional U-bracket give it the flexibility to suit a wide range of installation environments.

10-inch woofer with a 1.4-inch compression driver

The 10-inch cone woofer uses a 2-inch voice coil, while the HF compression driver has a 1.4-inch diaphragm on a 1-inch throat. Both use ferrite magnets, and the crossover sits at 2.5 kHz.

Rotatable 90° x 60° horn

Nominal coverage is 90° horizontal by 60° vertical, and the HF horn can be rotated so the cabinet can be installed horizontally or vertically. The optional UB-DXRDHR10 U-bracket allows wall or ceiling mounting in either orientation.

Plywood cabinet with durable polyurea finish

The bass-reflex enclosure is built from plywood with a polyurea coating for a robust, scratch-resistant black surface. It measures 305 x 494 x 300 mm and weighs 13.7 kg.

Ready to rig, mount or put on a stand

There are rigging points on the top (two) and rear (one) for M10 x 30–50 mm eyebolts, a 35 mm pole socket on the bottom and a top handle.

Two speakON connectors wired in parallel

Two speakON NL4MP connectors are wired in parallel. Sensitivity is 93 dB SPL (1 W, 1 m), with a calculated peak SPL of 122 dB.

Q. Does it need an amplifier?

Yes. It is a passive speaker with no built-in amplifier. Yamaha states that its DSP-equipped amplifiers and other compatible signal processors have dedicated speaker processor tuning settings for the CHR Series. Our team can help you choose a suitable amplifier for its 8 Ω load.

Q. Is the U-bracket included?

No. Yamaha lists the UB-DXRDHR10 U-bracket as an optional accessory. Ask our team if you need one with your speakers.

Yes. It has a 35 mm pole socket on the bottom of the cabinet for standard speaker stands.
