Yamaha URX44C USB-C Audio Interface
The Yamaha URX44C is a 6-in/4-out USB-C audio and MIDI interface that records at up to 32-bit/192 kHz. It pairs four Yamaha D-PRE mic preamps with Yamaha's own DSP, controlled from the dspMixFx app, so you can monitor with effects, build separate headphone mixes and set up for streaming from one compact desktop unit.
It is a strong fit for home and project studios, singer-songwriters, small bands recording together, podcasters with several guests and live streamers. With two headphone outputs, extra line inputs and four outputs, the URX44C gives you room to grow beyond a basic two-input interface.
Key Features
Yamaha D-PRE Preamps and 32-Bit/192 kHz Audio
The URX44C's four combo inputs use Yamaha D-PRE mic preamps, with +48V phantom power for condenser microphones and a 54 dB gain range. Combined with 32-bit/192 kHz resolution, they capture vocals, acoustic instruments and full-band takes in clear detail.
Six Inputs and Four Outputs
Two combo inputs take a microphone or a Hi-Z instrument such as an electric guitar or bass, and two take a microphone or line source. Two further TRS line inputs suit keyboards and other line-level gear. Four TRS outputs let you run main monitors plus a second pair of speakers or an external processor, with 6-track recording and 4-track playback over USB.
Two Headphone Outputs for Multi-Person Recording
The URX44C has two headphone outputs, each delivering 100 mW into 40 ohms, and two MIX buses so two performers can each hear their own blend. Independent headphone and main volume controls make it quick to balance what you hear in the room and in your headphones.
Latency-Free DSP Monitoring with dspMixFx
Yamaha's onboard DSP lets you monitor through effects with no latency. Through the dspMixFx app you get Gate, Compressor, the Sweet Spot Morphing Channel Strip, Guitar Amp Classics amp simulation, Pitch Fix, Ducker, Multi-Band Compressor, Compander, Delay and REV-X reverb, so a singer can hear a reverb-rich mix while you record a dry signal.
Built for Live Streaming
Three stereo loopback channels bring computer audio, such as music or a video call, into your mix, and a dedicated Streaming Mix bus lets you send a separate balance to your audience. The URX44C works with MixKey streaming software and supports the Elgato Stream Deck for hands-on control.
MIDI In and Out
Standard MIDI IN and OUT ports connect a keyboard, synthesiser or drum machine directly, so you do not need a separate MIDI interface on your desk.
Software Bundle Included
The URX44C comes with licences for Steinberg's Cubase AI DAW, the Basic FX Suite of plug-ins and Steinberg Plus with additional sounds. Yamaha also lists the Cubasis LE app for iPhone and iPad, giving you everything you need to start recording, editing and producing straight away.
Flexible Power and Desktop Design
Power comes from the supplied 12 V AC adaptor (Yamaha PA-150B) through a barrel DC IN socket, and Yamaha also lists USB Type-C bus power as an option. The desktop unit measures 252 x 47 x 159 mm and weighs 1.5 kg, so it sits neatly beside a laptop or keyboard.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the URX44C and the URX22C?

The URX44C adds two more combo inputs and two TRS line inputs, four outputs, two headphone outputs and 6-track recording with 4-track playback. Both offer 32-bit/192 kHz audio, MIDI I/O and the same DSP effects.
What comes in the box?
Yamaha lists a Setup Guide, licence cards for Cubase AI, Basic FX Suite and Steinberg Plus, a USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-C to Type-A cable (1.0 m) and the PA-150B AC adaptor.
How is the URX44C powered?
It is rated at DC 12 V/1.5 A and is supplied with the PA-150B AC adaptor, which connects to the barrel DC IN socket. Yamaha also lists USB Type-C bus power as a power option. Power consumption is 7.5 W.
Can I use the URX44C for live streaming?
Yes. It has three stereo loopback channels, a dedicated Streaming Mix bus, support for MixKey software and compatibility with the Elgato Stream Deck, which makes it well suited to streaming, podcasts and online performances.
Who is the URX44C best suited to?
It suits home and project studio owners, songwriters, duos and small bands recording together, podcasters with more than one guest and streamers who need more inputs, outputs and headphone feeds than a two-channel interface provides.
