Yamaha UR12MK3 USB-C Audio Interface
The Yamaha UR12MK3 is a compact 2-in/2-out USB-C audio interface for recording a microphone and an instrument into your computer at up to 24-bit/192 kHz. It has one mic/line combo input with phantom power, a Hi-Z instrument input, direct monitoring and a loopback function for streaming.
It is built for beginners, singer-songwriters, podcasters and streamers who want to start creating straight away. Yamaha bundles a Cubase AI licence and Steinberg Plus, so you have recording software from day one.
Key Features

Mic/Line Combo Input with Phantom Power
Input 1 accepts an XLR microphone or a line-level jack. Switchable +48V phantom power lets you use studio condenser microphones as well as dynamic mics, and there is up to 54 dB of gain range.
Hi-Z Input for Electric Guitar
Input 2 is a TRS jack that supports Hi-Z, so you can plug an electric guitar or bass straight in without a DI box. Record vocals and guitar at the same time on separate tracks.
24-Bit/192 kHz Recording over USB-C
The UR12MK3 records two tracks and plays back two tracks at 44.1 kHz to 192 kHz with 24-bit resolution. Yamaha specifies a frequency response of +0.0/-0.3 dB from 20 Hz to 20 kHz and a dynamic range of 106 dB on the inputs.
Direct Monitoring and Loopback for Streaming
The MONITOR switch lets you hear your inputs directly without computer latency, and the loopback function mixes computer audio such as music or game sound with your microphone for live streams. Mute switches, main volume and headphone volume sit on the front panel.
Two TRS Outputs and a Headphone Jack
Two TRS main outputs connect powered studio monitors such as Yamaha's HS3 or HS4, while the TRS headphone output (40 mW + 40 mW at 40 ohm) lets you track and mix privately.
Compact, USB-Powered Design with Software Included
At 158 x 47 x 102 mm and 450 g, the UR12MK3 runs on USB bus power (DC 5 V / 0.5 A), with a second USB-C DC IN port for external power. A 1.5 m USB-C to USB-A cable, a Cubase AI licence card and a Steinberg Plus licence card are in the box.
Frequently Asked Questions
UR12MK3 or URX22C: which should I choose?
The UR12MK3 has one mic input and one Hi-Z/line input at 24-bit. The URX22C has two mic/line combo inputs, 32-bit/192 kHz conversion, MIDI in/out and onboard DSP effects controlled by Yamaha's dspMixFx software.
Do I need a power adaptor?
No. It is powered over USB from your computer (DC 5 V / 0.5 A). A separate USB-C DC IN port is available if you want to power it externally.
Can I record a microphone and guitar together?
Yes. Use input 1 for the microphone and input 2 (Hi-Z) for the guitar; both are recorded as separate tracks.
What is in the box?
Yamaha lists the Setup Guide, a Cubase AI licence card, a Steinberg Plus licence card and a USB 2.0 cable (USB Type-C to Type-A, 1.5 m).
Is it good for live streaming?
Yes. The loopback function lets you blend audio from your computer with your microphone and send the combined mix to streaming software.
