Yamaha DM3 Digital Mixing Console with Dante
The Yamaha DM3 is the Dante-equipped model of the DM3 Series, a compact digital mixer that runs at up to 96 kHz. It mixes 16 mono channels, one stereo channel and two FX returns, with 16 local mic/line inputs, eight XLR outputs, an 18 x 18 USB audio interface and 16 x 16 Dante networking in a 6.5 kg body.
It suits engineers and venues that need a small desk which can join a Dante system: pairing with a stagebox such as the Tio1608-D2, sharing audio with other consoles, or recording over the network. Houses of worship, corporate AV, small live venues, streaming and recording setups are all covered by Yamaha's included scene presets.

Built-in Dante on the Yamaha DM3
Two etherCON ports labelled Primary and Secondary carry 16 channels of Dante audio in and 16 out. That lets the DM3 take inputs from a Dante stagebox such as the Tio1608-D2, exchange signals with other Dante devices, or feed a networked recorder, and Yamaha's reference manual covers using the Secondary port for a redundant connection.
16 Local Inputs and Flexible Patching
Twelve XLR and four XLR/TRS combo inputs handle microphones and line sources, and eight XLR outputs feed speakers and monitors. Inputs and outputs can be repatched freely, so the desk adapts quickly when a system changes from one venue to the next.
9-inch Touchscreen and Touch and Turn
Most operations run from a 9-inch multi-touch screen with a single Touch and Turn knob, alongside eight channel faders and one main fader. GainFinder helps with gain setting, and 1-knob COMP and 1-knob EQ give quick results with a single control.
Two Effects Engines with REV HD and REV R3
Two multi-effects processors offer 18 effect types, including the REV HD and REV R3 reverbs. Graphic EQ is available on Mix 1 to 6 and the Stereo bus for tuning speakers and monitors.
QuickPro Presets and Scene Presets
Yamaha worked with microphone and in-ear monitor makers to create more than 200 QuickPro input presets plus output presets for speakers and in-ears. Ready-made scene presets cover uses such as podcasting, recording, rock band, house of worship, corporate events, karaoke and theatre.
Multiple Ways to Record
USB TO HOST carries 18 channels each way to a PC or Mac for multitrack recording, and the front USB port records and plays back 2 tracks on a flash drive or USB disk. On the DM3 you can also multitrack over Dante using Dante Virtual Soundcard, which is sold separately. Cubase AI and VST Rack Elements are supplied as downloads.
Remote Control and Offline Editing
DM3 Editor lets you prepare shows on a computer before reaching the venue, DM3 StageMix controls the console remotely from a tablet, and MonitorMix lets performers adjust their own monitor mixes from a smart device. The console also accepts OSC over Ethernet and MIDI over USB.
Portable 6.5 kg Chassis
At 320 x 140 x 455 mm and 6.5 kg, the DM3 is easy to carry to gigs and fits tight control positions. The optional RK-DM3 kit allows rack mounting for installs and flight cases.

What is the difference between the DM3 and the DM3 Standard (DM3S)?
Dante. The DM3 adds 16-in/16-out Dante on Primary and Secondary etherCON ports. Yamaha lists the same mixing capacity, local I/O, screen, faders, effects, USB interface, size and weight for both models.
Do I need the Dante model?
Choose the DM3 if you plan to use a Dante stagebox, share audio with other Dante consoles or processors, or record over the network. If all your sources plug into the console and you record over USB, the DM3 Standard covers the same mixing features.
Can the DM3 record multitrack?
Yes. Connect a PC or Mac over USB for 18-track recording and playback, or record over Dante with Dante Virtual Soundcard (not included). The front USB port records and plays back 2 tracks on a storage device.
Should I choose the DM3 or an MGX16?
The DM3 has 16 mic/line inputs, a 9-inch screen, Matrix buses and Dante networking. The MGX16 has 8 mic inputs but adds Bluetooth input, a second USB SUB port, four headphone outputs and up to 16-track recording to microSD, and has no Dante.
What comes in the box?
Yamaha lists the Owner's Manual, the power adapter (PA-L500) and download information for Cubase AI and VST Rack Elements. Dante stageboxes, network switches, cables and the RK-DM3 rack kit are sold separately.
