Yamaha PSR-SX620: the accessible all-rounder
The PSR-SX620 is the natural starting point if you want modern PSR-SX performance tools without the size or cost of the upper models. It is the lightest of the three at 8.1 kg, making it especially practical for lessons, rehearsals and smaller live setups.
You still get 128-note polyphony, 450 accompaniment Styles, Bluetooth Audio, a joystick, two assignable Live Control knobs and Chord Looper. Yamaha’s revised speaker design and improved line outputs also make it equally comfortable at home or connected to a PA.
Choose it if: portability and value lead your decision, you prefer straightforward controls, and a 4.3-inch non-touch display is sufficient.
Yamaha PSR-SX720+: the performance sweet spot
The PSR-SX720+ is the best fit for many serious players. Its 7-inch touchscreen makes selecting Voices, managing registrations and editing settings much faster, while the FSB keyboard, eight assignable panel buttons, six home-screen shortcuts and two Live Control knobs give you greater command during performance.
Compared with the SX620, it adds a larger premium Voice library, Super Articulation Plus Voices, Crossfade Portamento, Style Dynamics Control and approximately 1 GB of Voice expansion memory. It retains Bluetooth Audio and Chord Looper, so it works well for stage performance, composing and structured practice.
Choose it if: you want the touchscreen workflow and advanced live controls, but do not require the SX920’s vocal harmony, Super Articulation2 Voices or larger Style library.
Yamaha PSR-SX920: the professional choice
The PSR-SX920 earns its position at the top through musical realism and breadth. It offers 575 Styles, more than 1,500 preset Voices, approximately 2 GB of Voice expansion memory and Yamaha’s advanced Super Articulation2 technology. These additions matter most when detailed acoustic-instrument expression is central to your arrangements.
It is also the clear choice for singing keyboardists and solo entertainers because it includes Vocal Harmony and Synth Vocoder functions. Expansion Audio Styles, a larger Multi Pad library and deeper effect resources make it the strongest option for complex stage sets and studio production.
Choose it if: you perform professionally, sing while playing, create detailed arrangements, or simply want the most complete instrument of the three.
Is the upgrade worth it?
Moving from the SX620 to the SX720+ costs about ₹35,100 at the prices shown here. The touchscreen, FSB keyboard, more detailed Voices and extra live controls make that a meaningful upgrade for regular performers.
The step from the SX720+ to the SX920 is about ₹23,400. That difference is easiest to justify if you need Vocal Harmony, Synth Vocoder, Super Articulation2, 575 Styles or the larger expansion capacity. If those features will not enter your workflow, the SX720+ remains the value-led professional choice.
