The Yamaha UR12MK3 is a compact 2-in/2-out USB-C audio interface for recording a microphone and an instrument into your computer at up to 24-bit/192 kHz. It is designed for home recording, podcasting, streaming and practice setups where one voice and one instrument are all you need.

Input 1 is a mic/line combo jack with +48V phantom power for condenser microphones, while input 2 is a TRS jack with Hi-Z support for plugging in an electric guitar. This listing is the black finish; the UR12MK3 is also made in white.

Mic/line combo input with phantom power

Input 1 accepts an XLR microphone or a line-level source on jack. Switchable +48V phantom power lets you use studio condenser microphones as well as dynamic models.

Hi-Z input for electric guitar

Input 2 is a TRS jack that supports Hi-Z, so an electric guitar can plug straight in without a DI box. Use it alongside the microphone input to record voice and guitar together.

24-bit/192 kHz over USB Type-C

The UR12MK3 records two tracks and plays back two tracks at sampling rates from 44.1 kHz up to 192 kHz with 24-bit resolution, connecting to your computer over USB Type-C.

Direct monitoring and loopback

A monitor switch provides direct monitoring of your inputs, and the loopback function lets you mix computer audio with your microphone for live streaming. Two TRS main outputs feed powered speakers, with a separate TRS headphone output.

Compact, light and USB powered

At 158 × 47 × 102 mm and 450 g, the UR12MK3 fits easily on a desk or in a laptop bag. It is powered over USB (5 V, 0.5 A), so there is no separate power adapter to carry.

Cubase AI and Steinberg Plus included

Yamaha includes a Cubase AI licence card and a Steinberg Plus licence card, plus a 1.5 m USB Type-C to Type-A cable, so you can start recording straight away.

Q. What can I connect to the UR12MK3?

One microphone or line source on the combo input (with +48V phantom power when needed) and one electric guitar or line source on the TRS input 2, which supports Hi-Z.

Q. Does it need a power adapter?

No. Yamaha specifies DC 5 V, 0.5 A power supplied over the USB connection, so it runs from your computer.
