A Studio Condenser with the AG Mixer Inside It
The AG01 is Yamaha's answer to the cable sprawl of a streaming desk. It is a cardioid studio condenser microphone with a complete AG mixer built into its body — one-touch COMP/EQ and reverb, a line input, a smartphone jack, a headphone output and loopback, all in the stand.
One USB-C cable goes to the computer and you are on air. No interface, no XLR cable, no phantom power to think about, and the processing runs in the hardware, so there is nothing to latch onto your CPU and nothing to monitor through.

What You Get
- Studio-quality cardioid condenser capsule. Picks up what is in front of it and rejects the room behind it — the right pattern for a desk in an untreated room.
- One-touch COMP/EQ and 1-TOUCH REVERB. Yamaha's processing on a button, running in the hardware at zero latency and printed to your stream as well as your headphones.
- LOOPBACK. Your voice and your computer's audio go out as one stream — the AG feature that makes game audio, music beds and call guests simple.
- Mute button on the body. A physical control you can hit without hunting for a window.
- Line input and a 4-pole mini jack for a phone, plus a headphone output for zero-latency monitoring.
- OBS certified and class compliant — it appears as a recording device in OBS, your DAW or any streaming app with no driver hunting.
- 3/8 inch stand thread with a protective cap, so it moves from the supplied desk position onto a boom arm when you want it out of the way.
- USB-C powered, 5 V / 900 mA. 116 × 281 × 118 mm, 1.2 kg. Cubase AI and WaveLab Cast included as downloads; compatible with the Cubasis LE and Rec'n'Share iOS apps.
Reading the AG Model Names
Yamaha's AG names are straightforward once you know the pattern:
- The number is the channel count — 03, 06, 08.
- MK2 is the second generation, with a USB Type-C connection.
- LSPK means Live Streaming Pack — the mixer bundled with a microphone, headphones and cable.
- AG01 is the exception in the range: rather than a mixer you plug a microphone into, it is a microphone with the mixer built in.
Choose the AG01 when you want the smallest possible desk. Choose an AG03MK2 or above when you want to change microphones later, plug in a guitar, or add a second person.

FAQ
Q. AG01, or an AG03MK2 with a separate microphone?
The AG01 is one object and one cable — the cleanest desk you can have. The AG03MK2 with a YCM01 costs a little more space and one XLR cable, but lets you change microphone later, plug in a guitar and use a headset. Solo streamers and podcasters who want simplicity take the AG01.
Q. Can I plug a second microphone into it?
No. The capsule is the microphone — there is no XLR input. For a second voice you need an AG06MK2 or an AG08.
Q. Does it need phantom power or a driver?
Neither. It powers over USB-C and is class compliant, so Windows and Mac recognise it immediately. The free AG Controller app is optional, for shaping the comp, EQ and reverb in more detail.
Q. Can I put it on a boom arm?
Yes — there is a 3/8 inch thread under a protective cap. Most desk boom arms use 5/8 inch, so you will usually want a 5/8-to-3/8 adapter. Ask our team which adapter suits your arm.
Q. Will it work with a phone or an iPad?
Yes. There is a 4-pole mini jack for connecting a smartphone directly, and an iPad connects through Apple's camera adapter.
