Product details
The Most Powerful PX Amplifier, with Built-In Speaker Processing
The Yamaha PX10 is a two-channel, 2U Class-D power amplifier that delivers 1,000 W x 2 into 8 Ω and 1,200 W x 2 into 4 Ω (1 kHz, non-clip, 20 ms burst, both channels driven). Its newly developed amplifier engine concentrates the necessary functions into a single custom LSI chip, and the whole unit weighs 7.4 kg.
Onboard DSP provides crossover, filters, delay, limiter and PEQ, together with Yamaha's D-CONTOUR multi-band dynamic processing. Config Wizard assigns optimised settings for Yamaha passive speakers, with presets for the CBR, Club, Installation and VXS/VXC series.
Key Features
1,000 W x 2 at 8 Ω, 1,200 W x 2 at 4 Ω
Yamaha rates the PX10 at 1,000 W x 2 into 8 Ω, 1,200 W x 2 into 4 Ω and 700 W x 2 into 2 Ω, measured at 1 kHz, non-clip, 20 ms burst, both channels driven. That covers everything from a single pair of 8 Ω speakers to lower-impedance loads.
Class-D engine in a 2U chassis
The Class-D design keeps the PX10 to 2U of rack space (480 x 88 x 388 mm) and 7.4 kg. The engine uses PLL technology to control transfer characteristics in real time.
Built-in speaker processing
Onboard processing includes input summing, high- and low-pass filters, delay of up to 74 ms and a speaker processor with 6-band PEQ, limiter and delay. D-CONTOUR multi-band dynamic processing helps keep the sound clear and consistent.
Config Wizard presets for Yamaha speakers
Config Wizard speeds up system setup by assigning optimised speaker settings. It includes presets tuned for each model in Yamaha's CBR, Club, Installation and VXS/VXC passive speaker series.
Eight user presets and panel lock
Store eight programmable presets for instant recall and save them to a USB thumb drive. A panel locking function keeps your settings safe once the system is tuned.
Professional inputs and outputs
Each channel has an XLR and a 1/4-inch TRS input, connected in parallel. Speaker outputs are provided on Neutrik speakON, binding posts and 1/4-inch phone jacks.
