Yamaha LP-1B Three-Pedal Unit for Digital Pianos

The Yamaha LP-1B is the black version of the LP-1 pedal unit. It gives compatible Yamaha digital pianos three piano-style pedals for sustain, sostenuto and soft, the same set of controls you find on a grand piano, with a half-damper effect on the sustain pedal.

It is a natural upgrade for students and pianists using a Yamaha P-121, P-125, P-125a, P-225, P-515, P-525, P-S500 or DGX-670 who want to practise proper pedalling technique. Teachers and exam candidates benefit from having all three pedals in the position they will meet on an acoustic piano.

The LP-1B places the soft, sostenuto and damper pedals in the familiar grand piano arrangement. Sustain the whole sound with the damper, hold only selected notes with the sostenuto, or soften the tone with the soft pedal.

Half-Damper Effect

The damper pedal supports a half-damper effect, so you can control how much the notes sustain instead of switching sustain fully on or off. This allows subtler, more natural pedalling, much like on an acoustic piano.

Yamaha lists the LP-1 pedal unit for the P-121, P-125, P-125a, P-225, P-515, P-525 and P-S500 digital pianos and the DGX-670 portable grand. Yamaha's specifications for the P-225, P-S500 and DGX-670 list a dedicated Pedal Unit jack for connecting it.

Does the LP-1B work with the P-145BT?

The LP-1 is not on Yamaha's compatibility list for the P-145 models. Yamaha's P-145 specifications list the LP-5A pedal unit instead.

Which stand goes with the LP-1B?
