Fast, Accurate Clip-On Tuning for Guitar, Bass and Ukulele
The Yamaha YTC5 is a compact clip-on tuner that detects pitch through a built-in vibration sensor. Yamaha designed it for guitar and bass, with a small body and simple controls that make it a practical choice for a wide variety of players, from beginners tuning up for their first lessons to experienced musicians.
Four tuning modes – Guitar, Bass, Ukulele and Chromatic – cover everyday tuning needs, while a tuning range of A0–C8 and an accuracy of ±0.5 cent help you get every string in tune. A backlit display, auto power-off and an included CR2032 lithium battery mean it is ready to use straight out of the box.
Key Features
Four tuning modes for guitar, bass, ukulele and more
Dedicated Guitar, Bass and Ukulele modes keep tuning quick and straightforward. The Chromatic mode shows the nearest note across the full tuning range, which is useful for alternate tunings.
A0–C8 range with ±0.5 cent accuracy
The YTC5 covers a tuning range from A0 to C8 with an accuracy of ±0.5 cent. Yamaha specifies a standard pitch of A4 = 440 Hz, the reference used for most modern music.
Vibration-sensor input
Clipped to your instrument, the tuner reads pitch through its vibration sensor. The clip has an operating range of 22.5 mm, so it attaches neatly to a typical guitar or bass headstock.
Backlight and auto power-off
The backlight makes the display easier to read in dim rooms and on stage. Auto power-off switches the tuner off when it is not in use, helping to conserve the battery.
Small, light and battery included
At 56 × 32 × 31 mm including the clip and just 28 g with its battery, the YTC5 fits easily in a gig bag pocket. It runs on a CR2032 (3 V) lithium battery, which is supplied, for approximately 25 hours depending on usage and conditions.
