The Yamaha V10G is a full-size (4/4) acoustic violin that Yamaha describes as an excellent step-up instrument. It shares the Stradivari-inspired design of Yamaha's YVN100S and YVN200S violins and pairs a hand-carved spruce top with maple back and sides, finished in a hand-applied shading oil varnish.

Every V10G has a hand-carved spruce top, with maple used for the back, sides and neck. The fingerboard is ebony, a dense, hard-wearing wood traditionally used for violin fingerboards.
