Yamaha SEQTRAK Portable Music Production Studio with Sampler and Sequencer
The Yamaha SEQTRAK is an all-in-one music production studio that combines drums, synthesisers, a sampler and a step sequencer in a slim 0.5 kg unit. With a built-in speaker, internal microphone and rechargeable battery, it lets you start a track the moment an idea arrives, without booting a computer. This listing is for the Black finish.
SEQTRAK suits beatmakers, producers and electronic musicians who want a portable sketchpad, as well as beginners who prefer hands-on controls to menu-diving. The free SEQTRAK app for Mac/PC, iOS and Android adds detailed sound editing and a Visualizer for live shows, and USB-C connects it to your DAW when you are ready to finish a song.
Key Features

11-Track Sequencer at the Heart of the Yamaha SEQTRAK
Music is built across 11 tracks using four track types: Drum, Synth, DX and Sampler. The sequencer handles up to 128 steps and gives you quick control over tempo, swing and track settings. Up to eight projects can be stored on the unit, with more saved to the SEQTRAK app.

AWM2 and FM Sound Engines
The AWM2 engine plays sample-based sounds such as pianos, strings and guitars with up to 128-note polyphony, while the four-operator FM engine (8-note polyphony) covers pads, leads and FM electric pianos. Yamaha provides 2,032 preset sounds and 392 preset sampler sounds, with more available through the app, backed by 800 MB of preset and 500 MB of user wave memory.

Onboard Sampler with Built-In Microphone
Record a voice, a tapped glass or any everyday sound through the internal MEMS microphone and load it into one of seven sampler slots. Samples are captured at 44.1 kHz/16-bit and can be shaped with effects, and Yamaha's OS v1.2 update adds a loop mode with adjustable start and end points.

Battery-Powered Yamaha SEQTRAK Music Production Studio
A rechargeable 2,100 mAh lithium-ion battery gives about 3–4 hours of continuous use and charges in roughly 3–5 hours over USB-C. Together with the 1 W speaker and 0.5 kg weight, this means you can produce on the sofa, on a train or in a studio without hunting for a power socket.
Effects for a Finished Sound
Yamaha equips SEQTRAK with 12 reverb types, 9 delay types, 85 master effect types and 85 single effect types. A five-band master EQ and low-pass/high-pass filters on every track help you balance and polish a mix, and the global effects can be controlled live during a performance.

Deep Editing in the SEQTRAK App
The included SEQTRAK app for Mac/PC, iOS and Android gives a clear graphic view of every track, with editing of envelopes, filters and effects. Its sound browser also lets you organise and add sounds to the unit.
Live Performance and Visualizer
Combine tracks and patterns on the fly, remix beats and mute or unmute tracks in real time to build arrangements while you play. The app's free Visualizer mode generates visuals synced to your music, including an AR mode, and can now be triggered from external MIDI devices.

Studio Connectivity: USB-C, MIDI, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi
A single USB-C cable carries power, MIDI and stereo audio, and SEQTRAK acts as a 44.1 kHz/24-bit audio interface with two inputs and two outputs. MIDI IN/OUT works through the supplied MIDI converter cable, a stereo mini-jack AUX input brings in external gear, Bluetooth MIDI links to the app, and Wi-Fi transfers WAV samples wirelessly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use SEQTRAK without a phone or computer?
Yes. SEQTRAK has its own hands-on controls, built-in speaker, microphone and rechargeable battery, so you can create complete patterns on the unit alone. The SEQTRAK app adds detailed sound editing, sound management and the Visualizer when you want them.
What is in the box?
Yamaha lists a USB-C to USB-C cable, the dedicated MIDI converter cable, a Quick Operation Guide and a Safety Guide. The MIDI IN/OUT port works only with the included converter cable, so keep it with the unit.
How is SEQTRAK powered and how long does the battery last?
It runs on a built-in 2,100 mAh lithium-ion battery that lasts about 3–4 hours of continuous use and takes about 3–5 hours to charge. Charging and powering are over USB-C using a USB Power Delivery source rated 4.8–5.2 V and 1.5 A or more.
Can SEQTRAK record audio into my DAW?
Yes. Over USB-C it works as a 44.1 kHz/24-bit USB audio interface with two input and two output channels, and it also sends and receives MIDI. Yamaha notes that on Android devices the audio interface may not work properly with apps other than the SEQTRAK app.
How does SEQTRAK compare with the Yamaha MODX M6 synthesizer?
The MODX M6 is a 61-key music synthesizer with a full playable keyboard. SEQTRAK is a compact, battery-powered groovebox focused on sequencing, beatmaking and sampling, which makes it the better pick for producing on the move or as a first production tool. Many musicians use a groovebox like SEQTRAK alongside a keyboard synth rather than instead of one.
Do the wireless features work with a Windows PC?
No. Yamaha states that Windows PCs cannot use SEQTRAK's wireless functions, so connect to a Windows computer with the USB-C cable. Bluetooth MIDI and Wi-Fi sample transfer work with the SEQTRAK app on supported devices.
